Are You Stuck in Repetitive Patterns?

Recently, I was cleaning out my closet and stumbled upon some of my old journals. I've been documenting my thoughts and experiences since grade school, so it was quite surreal to take a trip down memory lane and relive those moments.

As I reached the end of my high school years, a recurring theme became evident. I vividly recall feeling lost and uncertain about my future, while my friends seemed to have it all figured out - which caused a wave of panic to wash over me.

I thought there was something wrong with me. That everyone else knew what they were doing and that they had it all "figured" out.

Upon reflection, it's apparent that this feeling has persisted throughout my adult life. I've spent an excessive amount of time worrying about what I want to be when I "grow up."

However, I've come to realize that I don't have to be anything other than myself. A profession doesn't define who you are; it's the relationships you have, with yourself and others, the love you give and receive, and the present moment's abundance that shapes who you are.

The patterns in our life don't have to define us.

Do you feel like you're caught in a loop, repeating the same patterns over and over again? How do these patterns keep you from moving forward? If you could speak to your younger self, what words of wisdom would you offer? I would go back to when I was 18 and give myself a warm hug and tell her to take things one step at a time, to follow her heart, let life unfold naturally, and trust that everything will work out in the end.

You might find yourself:

-trapped in a pattern of constantly comparing yourself to others

-you're using food as a crutch when you're feeling down, maybe you've tried countless diets, but none seem to make a lasting difference

-you struggle to make exercise a consistent habit

-or you talk to yourself negatively about the physiology changes related to perimenopause
